1. Troy Pig Out (Troy, NY – August 17, 2025)

  • Why Visit? A must for BBQ lovers! This annual festival brings together pitmasters from across the Northeast, serving up ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and more. Live music and family-friendly activities make it a fun day out.
  • Hours: Usually 11 AM–7 PM
  • Parking: Free street parking nearby or paid lots (Riverfront Park Garage)

2. Root Glen at Hamilton College (Clinton, NY)

  • Why Visit? This hidden botanical garden, maintained by Hamilton College, features winding paths through towering trees, tranquil ponds, and a picturesque stone bridge. It’s an ideal spot for a quiet walk or even some meditation.

3. Troy Night Out (Troy, NY – Last Friday of Every Month)

  • Why Visit? This monthly street festival transforms downtown Troy into a hub of art, music, and food. Galleries stay open late, musicians perform on street corners, and restaurants offer special menus.
  • Hours: 5 PM–9 PM (last Friday of each month, May to December).

7. Howe Caverns (Cobleskill, NY)

  • Hours: 9 AM–6 PM daily (summer)

8. Cooperstown Farmers’ Market & Brewery Ommegang

  • Why Go? Chicks Along the Canal is glorified flea market festival setting for creative women entrepreneurs to show their wares, do some shopping, and partake in women-owned business comradeship! There's lots to check out with so many crafty, talented makers.
  • Date & Hours: August 10th: 10 AM – 5 PM
  • Parking:Free street parking available along Canal Street and nearby side streets

  • Tips:
    • Local Flavors: Pair your visit with a stop at Rock Valley Brewing Company (just a few doors down) for craft beer and pub fare. There's also the Little Falls Community Co-Op to grab healthy snacks, and The Cafe at Stone Mill Inn for sandwiches or coffee!
