One of our favorite things to do on any Compas Adventure is to explore the local business scene. As small business owners ourselves, we truly appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into running a successful business.
Navigating through the city of Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas, we were overwhelmed by the number of delicious food options. The city is known for its food culture and it did not disappoint! The area has also been quickly gaining prominence in the craft beer scene. With local breweries popping up all over the country, Pittsburgh has really put itself on the craft beer map. We couldn’t help but take in a few breweries when we weren’t out exploring.
Our favorite brewery of the trip was Brew Gentlemen in Braddock, PA. Braddock is about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh and is most known for its prominence in the steel industry. However, in our opinion, it may not be long before the city has a new claim to fame - beer!
Brew Gentlemen has a beer listed as one of America’s best IPAS in a blind taste test by Paste Magazine, so obviously, we were very excited! We won't geek out on all the beer details but let’s just say - It did not disappoint! If you find yourself in the Pittsburgh area and love craft beer, do not miss this place! The beer and the atmosphere are not to be missed.
Recommended beer of choice: Godzilla Glue!
Throughout the weekend we also had the opportunity to grab a pint at Grist House Craft Brewing and Fathead’s Brewery, both great options as well!
