With a 6 AM wake up call, I was up and at 'em prepping breakfeast for our group. The smell of fresh brewed coffee, crispy bacon and potato hash slowly pulled our friends from their beds to the kitchen table. We needed a hardy breakfast to gear up for our hike to Tahquitz Peak.
Once everyone ate, we geared up and headed to the trailhead. We had packed plenty of water and supplies for our day on the trails. We would be gaining a few thousand feet in elevations, so preparation was essential.
After making it up to the summit, we headed back to our cabin. We regrouped and cleaned up for an evening in the town of Idyllwild. Idylllwild was a very low key town with some amazing local shops. You can feel the sense of local pride. We grabbed some delicious handmade chocolate at the Candy Cupboard before making our way over to the Gastronome for some drinks. It was time to celebrate a job well done and a truly enjoyable weekend away.
