Adventures with Jeff: Part 2

Hile, Nepal

After another long week on the compound, our team of 12 piled into a van and braved 3 hours of curves, potholes, and cow crossings on the infamous Koshi Highway as we wound our way into the clouds to Hile, Nepal. The lower temps in the mountains meant less mosquitos, more campfires, and some great day hikes through hill country. Here's what we saw:

Pit stop on the way at the market in Dharan before the road got too hairy- tailors, murals, beauty queens and spices.
A map and a misty view of the road much, much less traveled- the Koshi Highway:

Day 1: Hiking up to a waterfall outside of Hile, Nepal.

Trail crew doing some maintenance after damage done by the 2015 earthquake.

Warm tongpa. Well-earned!

Day 2: Day hiking from Hile to Basantapur. With no trail map, we followed the goat trail thruways that connect Basantapur and Tirupur, and had a little help from the locals.

Stocking up for the hike at the Bastanpur Bazaar
.

Winding through the farms, villages and fields #Everytrailleadssomewhere
Stopping to smell the honeysuckles.
Teatime!
Back in the van for some raw sugarcane post hike.
Next up, Kathmandu and Pokhara!
